A week from today, to the day
Seven days from any date lands on the same weekday, so 7 days from a Tuesday is next Tuesday. That makes it the easiest count to check by eye, but it's also where people slip by a day. If a rule counts today as day 1, the seventh day is next Monday, not Tuesday. "Within 7 days" in most terms and conditions means by the end of the seventh day after the start date, which is how this calculator counts.
What a 7-day count is used for
- Free trials. Many week-long trials renew automatically. Check whether the charge comes at the start or the end of day 7.
- Replies and follow-ups. "Please respond within 7 days" on a letter or notice usually means calendar days, weekends included.
- Weekly pay and schedules. Weekly payroll, shift schedules and recurring meetings repeat every 7 days, so the next one is always on the same weekday.
- Short return windows. Some sale items and marketplace orders allow only a week. The clock may start on the order date or the delivery date, so check which.
Worked example: a week that ends on Christmas
From Friday, December 18, 2026, 7 calendar days takes you to Friday, December 25, 2026: Christmas Day. If you need 7 business days instead, the count skips two weekends and the holiday and finishes on Wednesday, December 30, 2026 with the US federal calendar. With bank holidays in England and Wales it's a day later again, Thursday, December 31, because Boxing Day falls on a Saturday that year and its substitute day is Monday, December 28.

Frequently asked questions
What day is 7 days from today?
The same weekday as today, one week later. If today is a Tuesday, 7 days from today is next Tuesday. The exact date is shown at the top of this page, worked out from your device.
Is 7 days the same as 5 business days?
Only when no public holiday falls in that week. Seven calendar days always hold five weekdays, so 5 business days from a weekday is the same weekday next week. A holiday in between pushes it one working day later.
When does a 7-day free trial end?
It depends on the service. Many count seven 24-hour periods from the moment you sign up, so the trial ends at the same time of day a week later. Others end at midnight on day 7. Check the terms, and cancel a day early if you are not sure.
What was the date 7 days ago?
The same weekday last week. Switch the direction to "Before today" to see the exact date.
