How to find the date 15 days from today

  1. 1

The date 15 days from today shows at the top: two weeks and one day away, so it falls on tomorrow's weekday.

  2. 2

Working out a grace period? Set the start date to the payment due date.

  3. 3

Turn on Count business days only for 15 working days, which is three weeks plus a day per holiday.

  4. 4

Watch for the holiday warning: banks and federal offices are closed on federal holidays, so a payment may not process that day.

15 days is not quite half a month

Fifteen days is two weeks and one day, so the answer falls on tomorrow's weekday, two weeks out. Half a month is a moving target: half of February is 14 days, half of a 31-day month is 15½. That's why semimonthly payroll uses fixed dates, usually the 15th and the last day of the month, rather than a 15-day cycle, and why it gives 24 paychecks a year instead of the 26 of a biweekly schedule.

Worked example: landing on a holiday

From Sunday, January 31, 2027, 15 days later is Monday, February 15, 2027. That's Washington's Birthday (Presidents' Day), a federal holiday, so banks and federal offices are closed and a payment due that day may not go through until Tuesday. Counting 15 business days instead skips the holiday and ends on Monday, February 22, 2027. Fifteen business days is three working weeks, plus a day for each holiday on the way.

Grace periods and other 15-day deadlines

  • Loan grace periods. Many mortgages and some other loans allow about 15 days after the due date before a late fee is charged. For a payment due Monday, February 1, 2027, 15 days later is Tuesday, February 16. Your loan documents say exactly when the fee applies and whether the payment must be received, not just sent, by then.
  • Half-month deadlines such as "within 15 days of the invoice" or a 15-day response window in a letter. Unless business days are mentioned, weekends count.
  • Semimonthly pay periods. The first half of the month is always 15 days. The second half runs from the 16th to the month end, so its length changes:
Month length1st to 15th16th to month end
28 days (February)15 days13 days
29 days (leap-year February)15 days14 days
30 days15 days15 days

For exactly two weeks, see 14 days from today; for three, 21 days from today.
