Looking back 30 days
30 days ago is the date behind every "within the last 30 days" question: is a purchase still inside the return window, is a charge recent enough to dispute, has a payment gone 30 days past due. It's four weeks and two days back, so it falls two weekdays before today's weekday.
Inside or outside the window?
On Monday, March 15, 2027, 30 days ago was Saturday, February 13, 2027. With a 30-day return policy, something bought on February 13 reaches the last day of its window today; something bought on February 12 is a day too late. When a report or a policy says "the last 30 days" and includes today, it covers Sunday, February 14 through March 15: 30 days counting both ends, so it starts 29 days back. That one-day difference is the most common reason two systems disagree about a 30-day window.
Where people check 30 days back
- Returns and price adjustments. Store policies count from the purchase date or the delivery date, and the receipt usually says which.
- Late payments and credit reports. Lenders usually don't report a missed payment to the credit bureaus until it's at least 30 days past due, though a late fee can apply sooner.
- Card disputes. Under the Fair Credit Billing Act, the FTC says to send a billing-error dispute so it reaches the card issuer within 60 days after the first statement with the error was mailed. A charge from 30 days ago is usually still in time, and issuers may allow longer.
- Forms and screenings that ask whether you've done something "in the past 30 days".
30 business days back
Counting 30 business days back from March 15, 2027 reaches Friday, January 29, 2027, six weeks and three days earlier, because the count skips weekends and Presidents' Day on February 15. If a policy says 30 business days, it's a much longer look back than it sounds.

Frequently asked questions
What was the date 30 days ago?
It is shown at the top of this page, worked out from today's date on your device. It falls two weekdays before today's: on a Monday, 30 days ago was a Saturday.
Does "the last 30 days" include today?
It depends on who is counting. Counting back 30 days from today and including today gives a range that starts 29 days ago. Counting 30 full days before today starts 30 days ago and ends yesterday. If two reports disagree by a day, this is usually why.
Is 30 days ago the same as one month ago?
Not always. On March 15, 2027, 30 days ago was February 13, while one month ago was February 15, because February is short.
Is my purchase within a 30-day return window?
If you bought it on or after the date shown above, and the store counts from the purchase date, yes. Some stores count from the delivery date instead, so check the policy.
How many business days back is 30 days?
Between 20 and 22 weekdays, minus any public holidays in that span.
